2020 It’s A Wrap!
Well, who would have thought at the beginning of this year that 2020 would be so challenging.
At the end of 2019 I wrote that we had exciting plans for growth and how we would be investing in our businesses and staff this year.
And then in March the whole world was hit by the Covid pandemic.
We started the year with lots of promise and work to carry out but by the end of March we were placed into a national lockdown. The lockdown for us lasted ten weeks into early June and resulted in all works being paused. The gradual return of our workforce from 4th June was a tentative one but by the end of July the shoots of recovery were well and truly showing.
By the beginning of August we had picked up a large three month contract for a local clothing and homeware retailer in Colne involving demolition of existing office space to extend their warehouse space and the creation of some new offices which was completed by the end of October. Also we picked up a large project in Blacko to start which will continue through into 2021. With these two projects in the bag along with numerous other smaller jobs to complete by September we were well and truly flying towards the year end. The Covid lockdown was a distant memory but Covid was always at the front of all of our works with social distancing and other new procedures brought in to enable us to keep our workforce safe and free from the infection as best we could.
We now end the year full steam ahead leaving our three sites clean and tidy ready to resume on the 4th January to go again. We will return in the New Year searching for new staff to add to our team including a qualified Plumber/Pipe Fitter and another General Builder to help with the workload we have booked in.
